One of the highlights of my trip was visiting the 7th-century Kyichu Lhakhang, an ancient and sacred temple that offers a deep connection to over 1,400 years of history. The guide Chimi and the driver are definitely the best part of the trip and they both speak good English. Before they took us to sightseeing , Chimi clearly explain the tour, ask about our preference and welcome us to change our plan whenever we want. They keep us entertained on the long journey but also give us personal space.

Chimi is an excellent, friendly, caring and polite guide who is extremely knowledgeable about the country, people and culture. He gave me an incredible lesson in Buddhism when we were visiting the temples. The driver also very competent and careful. We both become very good friend throughout the trip.

I highly recommend Alaya as your travel agent in Bhutan. They have good taste of the attractions and restaurants which definitely fit your needs. Truly appreciate Alaya for giving me such a great moment in Bhutan and can’t wait to be back again!

Amazing 8-day Tour of beautiful Bhutan  - The cultures, friendly people, views of the nature, valley, whiny driving up the mountains, and hiking to the Tiger’s Nest Temple. The view of this temple is amazingly beautiful from... read more the cafe and about 30 min away from the temple. Whether the foggy covers partially or clear skies, the view was just mesmerizing. This place is definitely a memorable one!
The tour guide and the driver were extremely helpful, friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating, and super nice.
The manager/coordinator was so caring and very respectful and responsive. He helped me checked in with Bhutan Air and checked the flight status. Our flight departed 2 hours earlier but I was not informed. Thank to the manager, he knew and came to pick us up early. He has the itinerary run smoothly.

He was able to personalise your trip (just tell him what you want), process your visa, keep you updated all the way till the day your trip is happening.
My tour package includes most fees (SDF, visa, hot stone bath, admission fees to various monasteries), hence I only need to worry about own expenses and gratuity to guide and driver.
The assigned lady tour guide (Dema) and driver (also called Chimi) were very nice and hospitable. Dema was knowledgeable and also would tweak the itinerary according to our level of tiredness or what suits better. Chimi's superb driving skills kept us safe and sound, remembering that there is no traffic lights in Bhutan. Really enjoyed the time spent with both of them during our 10-day trip.
Visiting during winter (off peak) means it's less crowded, and there was really no rush at all. As we were travelling as a pair, everything was at our own pace, and hence relaxing. Think of those big group tour where you need to accommodate to each other, I had no worries at all.
The accommodation arranged were all good, honestly I had not expected that level of comfort in staying at each place. It changed my view totally.
Food wise, Bhutanese eats spicy food very much. Don't worry, let your guide know your food preference and it can be arranged accordingly.
